Who says learning cant be fun?
This is the third in a series of 3 teaching color Apps. TeachMe Colors 3 is aimed generally at 5-7 year olds and encompasses the concept of play-based learning. Through a series of fun-filled activities your child will learn the names of 11 basic colors, 8 tints and shades and 16 advanced colors.
Each activity allows you to initially guide your child through steps designed to teach them the recognition of colors until they can do it themselves.

Features:
• 5 fully interactive activities for your child to explore!
• A Preferred Spelling option is available allowing you to choose the spelling of the words Grey/Gray and Color/Colour.

Activities:

Activity 1: Named Random Colors
To broaden your childs color recognition, 35 named colors presented in random order are included in this activity. Colors include: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Black, Brown, Orange, Purple, Pink, Grey, White, Light Blue, Light Green, Light Grey, Light Pink, Dark Blue, Dark Green, Dark Grey, Dark Pink, Mauve, Violet, Lavender, Magenta, Coral, Turquoise, Olive Green, Yellow Green, Gold, Tan, Aqua, Maroon, Ivory, Peach, Sienna and Apricot.

Activity 2: Quiz - What color is this?
Using 17 different objects in random colors, the child is presented with a choice of 3 color names. If the wrong color is chosen, the child is encouraged to try again and the incorrect answer shrinks so they know which ones they have already tried.

Activity 3: Introducing Color Mixing
To introduce your child to the concept of color mixing, 2 colors appear side-by-side and a color sentence appears below with the answer blanked out. When the child touches the screen, the mixed color appears and the sentence is completed. At first, have your child repeat the color sentence after you to reinforce their learning until they are able to do it themselves. To extend the learning, see if your child knows the answer to the colour sentence before they touch the screen.

Activity 4: Drawing Activity
Your child can choose from 4 widths or sizes to use with the pencil or stamps. A choice of 35 colors are available for their selection. Using their finger, encourage your child to create their own colorful artwork in the blank space by drawing lines with the pencil and applying the stamps by tapping the screen. The Load Photo button enables your child to select a photo or drawing from the iPads Photo Album to use as a background. Your child can draw over the top of the image and using the Save button they can save the drawing and photo together as one image.
Your child can save their unfinished creation and reload it later to continue working on it. Because they are saved into the iPads Photo Album this means they can be easily emailed to family and friends.

Activity 5: Complete The Color Sentence
Your child is presented with a color palette and an unfinished color sentence below. There are 3 opportunities given to answer correctly after which the color names are revealed to teach your child the correct combination. The transition speed of the activity can also be changed by adjusting the speed slider from 0 to 3 seconds. If there are two missing colors in the sentence, for example _____ + _____ = Light Green, and your child selects only one of the correct colors, this will remain in place until either the second correct color is selected or all 3 tries have been exhausted. The missing color or colors will be automatically inserted when 3 incorrect answers are chosen, after which a new color sentence will appear.

The age range given above is a general guide only as children learn at their own pace.
